The annual Hannover Floor Materials Exhibition (DOMOTEX) is held every January in Hannover, Germany. Founded in 1989, it is one of the world's largest carpet and floor paving trade shows, and is now the world's most well-known professional floor paving products exhibition.

In 1989, DOMOTEX was first launched in Hannover, Germany, and the world changed. From the very first show, exhibitors of both woven and hand-made carpets participated together. For the carpet and floor materials industry, this shift is entirely self-generated, and it is a bold move without doubt. Designed to cover the entire industry, this exhibition is the first to showcase new products, cutting-edge floor materials, and modern design, combining tradition and fashion. DOMOTEX is distinguished by its outstanding international appeal, with approximately 40,000 traders from more than 50 countries currently participating in this important annual international event for the carpet and floor coverings industry. Manufacturers, retailers, designers and industry associations joined hands to present a range of products to the audience, including carpets, textile and flexible flooring materials, parquet, laminate flooring, natural stone and tile, as well as related application equipment and paving processes.

The Hannover Exhibition Center is the largest exhibition facility in the world. The world's largest exhibition venue has perfect infrastructure and artistic technology. It is designed for an annual flow of more than 1,400 exhibitors and 2.3 million visitors. The whole site covers an area of 1 million square meters, a total of 27 pavilions, indoor exhibition area reached 498,000 square meters.

The DOMOTEX format change has been accepted by the market. In 2020, 1,400 companies from more than 60 countries came to Hannover to showcase the future of retail, industrial production and craftsmanship for carpets and flooring. Gruchow explained: "This is the largest number of exhibitors in DOMOTEX's history. "What's more, more than 85% of the exhibitors are from abroad and the space booked for the show has met expectations, in fact this is the first time DOMOTEX has reached 106,000 square meters. In addition to Germany, the big participating countries at DOMOTEX this year are Turkey, India, Belgium and China, followed by the Netherlands, Iran, Italy, Egypt and the United States.
